When we launched our Amazon store and online shop back in 2016 Naturally Chic was one of the only retailers of palm leaf dinnerware products. At that time the market had yet to be saturated by knock-off competitors, but flash forward to 2019 and there are endless companies selling palm leaf dinnerware! Hey, we like healthy competition, and we know there are some reputable brands out there, but we wanted to take a moment to highlight the differences often found so that you can make a smart, informed decision when purchasing your palm leaf dinnerware. We recently purchased plates from a different supplier simply because we were curious about their quality, and how they would compare to our palm leaf plates and bowls. When our order arrived we unboxed them and immediately noticed the difference. These were so different from our products we could not believe it! What we received were warped palm leaf plates with chipped, rough edges and major inconsistencies. They felt incredibly flimsy and cheap even though they were the same price point as ours. The edges were very rough and you could tell these plates had not been crafted by hand and sanded, like ours.
